Santa Fe New Mexico is unique. It has an old world feeling which is because it is pre-Mayflower. The Conquistadors settled part of what is now New Mexico in 1598. It is also an incredibly diverse city that has been influenced by 2 primary cultures–Native American and Spanish. And now it is not only a destination for tourists from all over the globe, but is a also place that many choose to stay and live.
Santa Fe is one of the few places you can actually ski in the morning and play golf in the afternoon. We also have great spas, bike and hiking trails, folk art festivals, Santa Fe Indian Market, Santa Fe Film Festival and the Wine and Chile Festival to name just a few annual events. We also have a beautiful open air opera house that is part of a packed summer schedule and world renowned artists.
Our cuisine is specific to New Mexico because of the Chile…Red or Green, Hot or Mild it adds an original twist to our dish. But New Mexico fare isn’t the only thing on offer at our locally and nationally acclaimed restaurants…there is also French, Spanish, Japanese and Asian Fusion available as well.
And then there is the shopping! From custom cowboy boots and custom hats to Native American jewelry the only dilemma is how to spend your money. We also have a robust consignment market for antiques, arts, home furnishings, jewelry, vintage clothing and yes, cowboy boots.
Those are just a few reasons why I love Santa Fe but there are many more.
